UV Index hits record highs

This post links to the EPA UV Index webpage.  A cursory look at the data for Albuquerque, New Mexico, indicates that the maximum exposure levels have increased since 2005 and this may be true for other locations in the US.  What is particularily useful on this page is the tab near the top labelled ” LEARN THE ISSUES”.  This tab gives you access to all sorts of useful information on topics like Climate Change and Green Living

Ozone depletion, as well as seasonal and weather variations, cause different amounts of UV radiation to reach the Earth at any given time. The UV Index, developed by the National Weather Service and EPA, indicates the strength of solar UV radiation on a scale from 1 (low) to 11+ (extremely high).
